Sutter Lions Club

Announcements :

The Sutter Lions have been saving can pull tabs for about 2 years. Chairman of the pull tab committee, Lion Wayne Ahlers arranged a visit to the Ronald McDonald House in Sacramento on September 1, 2011 to deliver 25 pounds of pull tabs. We had 6 members and 2 wives attend the event. It was a very GOOD day.  We had the Grand Tour of the grounds and were treated like Royalty.  It takes 1,280 tabs to make a pound.   The Sutter Lions Club would like to challenge other Clubs in District 4-C1 to save can pull tabs for the Ronald McDonald House in Sacramento. It's just another way WE SERVE!!!!

 We just attended a District work-shop today 1/21/12 at the Sutter Youth Hall.PDG, Skip O'Brien and 1st VDG Elect, Lion Coy Moody put on the work-shop and it was Very informative.Our District Governor, Lion Lee Hollwell attended and gave a very good talk. The purpose of the work-shop was to help area clubs get new members and to retain them.

The Sutter Lions Scholarships awarded this year went to;,  Brandon Ahlers, Shaila Gidel, Justin Gildemeister, Cameron Brown and the continuation scholarship went to Kelly Ziegenmeyer.

Sutter Lions Parade for Sutter Buttes Day was a great success. Lion Ron Whisenhunt  with his horses and wagon was very impressive. We had 10 Lions Members in the wagon with flags from The Avenue of Flags form the Sutter Cemetery.

 The Sutter Lions Club is looking for members who would like to make Sutter a better place and work for the community.Please contact any Sutter Lions member for more information.

.Our officer induction night was a great success and a lot of fun. PDG Lion Becki Stange did the inductions.      We also started a "Membership Committee" headed by Lion Bruce Smith along with Lions Jim Barringer Norm Hansen and Walt Ziegenmeyer.

Another visit was made to the Ronald McDonald House in Sacramento on 10-19-10 and they were presented with a check from the Sutter Lions for $1,350.00 and more can tabs. This is just another way "WE SERVE"

The Sutter Lions Club will have our 17th. Annual Golf Tournament on May 12, 2012 ------12:00 Noon --Shotgun Start.    Pluman Lake Golf and Country Club, 1551 Country Club Road.
